At a time when many people are clambering for accountability from the Ingonyama Trust, and particularly its chair Mr Jerome Ngwenya, Minister Didiza and her office appear to downplay, if not outright deny their oversight responsibilities.
The Land portfolio committee has take a courageous stance, as has the office of the Auditor General in calling out lack of financial accountability and failures in accounting to Parliament. Notwithstanding their efforts Mr Ngwenya has been saved time and again by the Minister. Now, officials within the Trust have written to the Minister reporting serious problems and asking for her intervention, only for her office to state that she will refer such concerns back to the discredited Ingonyama Trust Board, rather than deal with them herself.
